While I’ve been traipsing around New York shooting next season’s episodes for The Cut, hosted by DJ Revolution, the show has premiered one of its newest episodes featuring the world famous turtablist himself, DJ Qbert. Last week I had the chance to catch up with the good folks at Reebok (@reebok) during the Agenda Tradeshow in NYC. Been wearing those Freestyle ‘kicks since they came out in the 80s and am now obsessed with their Easy Tone version that they recently released. Glad to hear that RBK is on board for Camp Spin Off 2011! Big Shout to Eric Jew and David Ting.

Spent some time with Nick Tershay (@nickydiamonds) of Diamond Supply Co, trying to convince him to name his new shoe “The Candice.” Here’s hoping for some kick back on that!

Since we are in the first quarter of 2011, our bank accounts and budgets are full (theoretically), it is the best time to start planning for summer projects. For the second year in a row, I am absorbing myself in Camp Spin Off, a passion project of DJ Tina T (@djtinat, @DJ Tina T), lead by instruction from DJ Hapa (@djhapa, @Hapa Brandon Perdue). Being able to both support the coordination of the camp, and act as a camp counselor was an amazing experience! It’s crazy how you can take the art of DJing, bring in a group of young people, and be able to produce a creative space that inspires and motivates youth.

Here are some fun pics from CES and the walk on the trade show floor. Having the opportunity to meet with some of the masterminds behind the technology we use on a daily basis is truly amazing!

This year at CES, there is no doubt that the overarching theme is 3D. I saw almost every sort of device with a 3D cousin not too far behind. Yes, there was the obvious TVs and home theater experiences, but also computers, cameras, and projectors.

By far the best 3D experience was at the Monster Cable Awards with Hewlett-Packard’s (HP) innovative 3D Experience. Their new eyewear was recognized for the first ever of it’s kind that works across all 3D platforms and brands. The amazing HP Team, lead by Carlos Montalvo was able to project onto 50ft screens, the live Earth Wind & Fire concert happening in the next room in real time. It was truly amazing. A big shout out goes to the Gunnar Eyewear team that gifted me a pair of the 3D glasses. Can’t wait to catch TRON now!

Not Another Company (NAC) teamed up with Skullcandy to produce a DJ Workshop series at Woodward West during their 2010 Winter Camp, December 28-31st. The workshops featured world renowned DJ Tina T, with the help of DJ Printz Paul.
